The Barwon Water biosolids drying facility is located approximately 15 kilometres south of Geelong directly adjacent to Barwon Water’s Black Rock Water Reclamation Plant.

The facility is connected to the water reclamation plant by a 200 metre elevated pipeline through which biosolids are pumped to the pellet drying facility.

This co-location means the facility is able to use recycled water from the reclamation plan to for cooling purposes, ultimately reducing its reliance on precious drinking water by around four million litres a day.
